Meet Radish!

Radish is a nearly 4-year-old male Shih Tzu who is learning that life outside a commercial breeding facility can be full of comfort, freedom, and fun.

Because Radish spent his early years without proper socialization, he is still learning how to trust people and navigate life in a home. He may not be a cuddly lap dog right away, but he has made wonderful progress and continues to come out of his shell. Beneath his cautious exterior is a busy, curious little guy with a big personality who knows exactly what he wants!

Radish has discovered that he enjoys rearranging the shoes by the door, moving rugs around the house, and keeping tabs on everything happening around him. For reasons known only to Radish, shower mats remain his favorite item to chew, so his future family may want to keep those safely out of reach. His foster describes him as a busy little toddler who truly enjoys life.

A confident, neutral resident dog will be required in Radish’s new home. He has learned so much by watching his foster brother, Cooper, and will need another well-adjusted dog to continue showing him that people, routines, and new experiences are safe. A quieter home with patient adults and a predictable routine will give him the best opportunity to thrive.

Radish will need a family that understands his progress may happen in small steps. He is not looking for someone to rush him or expect him to immediately become a traditional lap dog. He is looking for someone with patience, time, and a sense of humor who will celebrate each milestone as he continues discovering how wonderful life can be.

Radish is neutered and received a dental while in our care. He is up to date on rabies, distemper, Bordetella, and lepto vaccinations. He has been heartworm tested, started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and is microchipped.
