Meet Atticus 

At 10 years young, Atticus is living proof that it’s never too late for a second chance. This handsome Shepherd mix made his way to B-Squad all the way from death row in Dallas, Texas—and now he’s ready to write the best chapter of his story yet… with you.

Don’t let his age fool you—Atticus still has plenty of life, love, and loyalty to give. He’s recently completed his first basic obedience class with the team at Happy Tails K-9 Training (what a good boy! ��), and he’s been working hard to show just how ready he is for a home of his own.

Atticus has done amazing with other dogs when meeting them appropriately and enjoys canine companionship. On leash, though, he tends to be a bit of a “chatty Kathy” and has a lot to say when passing other pups—he just gets excited and wants to share his thoughts! Continued structure and guidance will help him keep building those good leash manners.

This sweet senior is looking for a home that will appreciate his calm presence, his soulful eyes, and the quiet gratitude that only a dog who’s been given a second chance can offer. Whether it’s a cozy couch, a peaceful walk, or simply being near his people—Atticus is all in.
