Loki is a 2 year old male doberman pinscher. Loki is part of a group of dogs that came to B-Squad after their kennel experienced a devastating aflatoxin poisoning at the hands of dog food they were eating (Sportmix produced by Midwestern Pet Foods, Inc.) Aflatoxins are toxins produced by the mold Aspergillus flavus, which can grow on corn and other grains used as ingredients in pet food. At high level, aflatoxins can cause illness and death in pets. B-Squad was honored and humbled to be able to welcome Loki and many of the other survivors to B-Squad. Loki's poisoning occurred in November of 2020. Loki has been seen and has had several blood tests completed to measure his liver and other organ functions. We are happy to report that Loki has received a clean bill of health from our veterinary team and is now ready to find his forever family.
Loki is a gentle giant. Loki loves people and gets along with other dogs both male and female of all sizes. Loki is a very special boy that was very much loved by his previous owners and will make a great addition to a very lucky family. Loki will do best with an active family with previous dobe experience that can keep him both mentally and physically active. Loki is eager to please and loves his snuggle time on the couch. He is a connoisseur of fluffy dog beds and will test every single one out regardless of size to find the right fit. We just can't say enough great things about this boy and are so excited for him to find his forever family!
A little information about Dobermans:
Dobermans are very intelligent, learn easily, respond quickly, and make loving and fun companions. However, they are very strong dogs and can become pushy, destructive, and unmanageable if not raised properly. Socialization starting in puppyhood is imperative, as is obedience training. The Doberman is an energetic athlete who needs a lot of exercise and free play. A Doberman will enjoy going for long daily walks or hikes with his owner, and having a large fenced area where he can run is vital for his physical and mental well-being. Participation in canine sports such as obedience, tracking, and agility will provide exercise for mind and body and fun times together for dog and owner.
- An active family that will keep Loki both mentally and physically healthy.
- Previous doberman experience preferred
- Physically fenced in yard
- Loki very much knows his name. We will require that his future home keep this name as a courtesy to both Loki and his previous home. Thank you!
